Pen to Paper: Writing for your life

feather ink pen

Why must your story be told?  For history, for publication, for your family. For the pure satisfaction of recording and shaping a story you’ve long wanted to tell. In this 5-week writing workshop, you’ll be given encouragement and direction in telling something about your life. Some common challenges: where to begin; how to make your story come alive; how much to reveal. Along with weekly writing exercises, you’ll be given personal essays to read by writers such as Edwidge Danticat, Joanne Beard, William Finnegan, Jennie Boylan, and Adam Gopnik. Handouts and/or online links will  be provided
